ST. BERNARD DAY ON THE BAYOU
On Wednesday, September 29, 2021, St. Bernard Parish Government and Nunez Community College will lead “St Bernard Day on the Bayou” in a community relief effort that will include the St. Bernard Parish School Board, SBPFD, SBSO, the Chamber of Commerce, LSUAG, Meraux Foundation and All About Me as well as many other business partners and volunteers.
Collectively, we will distribute relief commodities, serve hot meals and provide assistance to residents in the Southeast Louisiana Bayou Parishes of Lafourche and Terrebonne devastated by Hurricane Ida. Volunteers will assist in recovery efforts to benefit victims dealing with the Ida’s aftermath.
In 2005, St. Bernard Parish was completely devastated by Hurricane Katrina. Our community received generous support from numerous other parishes, community partners, non-profit organizations and volunteers. Their assistance gave hope to the citizens of St. Bernard Parish speeding our road to recovery.
Below is a list of specific items that are needed and will be collected for those in the affected areas.
Essential Items To Be Collected:
Bug Spray, Tarps, Diapers for Adults and Babies, Baby Formula, Cleaning Supplies, Garbage Bags (55) gallon, plastic containers/moving boxes, Flashlights, Camping Lamp, Headlamps, Batteries, First Aid Products, Hygiene Products, Pet Food, Water, Gatorade, Ice, Snack Bars, Nuts, Tuna in a Bag, Plastic Ware and Paper Plates.
