Rider Information
SBURT's route offers frequent trips between Arabi and Poydras. Adults 13 and over are $1.00, Children 5-12 years of age are 0.50¢ and Children under 5 are FREE at all times. Service on the route operates Monday through Friday. Passengers may board at any designated bus stop.
ELDERLY (60 YEARS AND OLDER), DISABLED (E/D), & MEDICARE PASSENGERS
Elderly (60 Years and older), Disabled (E/D), and Medicare passengers may receive a 50% discount on fares. In order to receive the reduced fare, passengers must display a Medicare card with picture ID, or E/D Identification card. For more information, contact the SBURT office at 504-277-1907.
Route Deviations
On-Demand Route Deviations:
Passengers may request a deviation to any location that SBURT buses can legally traverse in the following seven areas during normal business hours: St. Bernard Hospital, Trist Middle School, J. F. Gauthier School, St. Bernard State Park, and Fanz Trailer Park. Due to road conditions, route deviations are not guaranteed and may be cancelled with little or no notice.
Pre-Arranged Route Deviations to specific addresses:
Passengers may request 24 hours in advance a route deviation to and from a location three/quarters of a mile off the fixed route within the jurisdiction of St. Bernard Parish so long it is determined that the transit vehicle is able to safely access the pick up and drop off locations. The request for a deviation must be made to the St. Bernard Transit via phone (504-277-1907) or email transit@sbpg.net at least 24 hours prior to the pick up and drop off. Cause must be provided to passengers if it is determined that their request is not feasible.
