Bus will run Express Route from 6 a.m. to 7 a.m.
St. Bernard Transit will run on a “holiday” schedule on Monday, May 29th due to Memorial Day, which is a parish holiday. From 7 a.m. until 8 p.m. buses will pass the normal stops every two hours, as opposed to every hour during regular services days. The parish bus will make an express run from Poydras to Arabi starting at 6 a.m. and heading back from Arabi to Poydras at 6:30 a.m. “We added the morning ‘express run’ after receiving feedback from passengers who needed to head towards the city early in the morning,” said St. Bernard Transit Manager Michael Bayham.
“The department timed and mapped out a way for the bus to make two runs from Poydras to Arabi early in the morning and will be implementing it for the first time on Memorial Day,” said Bayham. The express run will operate on a shortened route as the bus will not turn on to Archbishop Hannan Boulevard and Paris Road during the first hour of operation. Starting at 7 a.m. the bus will follow its normal route. The St. Bernard Transit Holiday Schedule is posted on the parish website at www.sbpg.net/transit or call the transit office at 504-277-1907 for additional information.
