Councilman Casey Hunnicutt Biography: Casey is an honor graduate of Holy Cross High School class of 2005. He then attended the University of Louisiana at Lafayette in which he majored in Political Science. While in college, he gained much experience working part-time for two statewide elected officials. Upon graduating college in 2009, Casey was offered a job in Lafayette, but turned the opportunity down to come back to the place he calls home, St. Bernard Parish. He immediately began working for St. Bernard Parish Government assisting in the recovery from Hurricane Katrina. In 2011, Casey decided that he wanted to take on a much larger role and run for the open District D seat. On November 19, 2011, Casey became the youngest councilman ever elected in St. Bernard Parish at twenty-four years of age. Since taking office in January, he has taken on many leadership roles (member of the Executive Finance Committee, member of the Regional Planning Commission, vice-chairman of the Housing Redevelopment and Quality of Life Commission, and chairman of the Cable Committee). Casey is enthusiastic about the future of St. Bernard Parish and vows to dedicate himself to improving St. Bernard in any way possible. Message to Public: Welcome to my official Parish website.
