Place sticker on top of cans when they arrive in water bills

St. Bernard Parish Government is mailing decals in this month's water bills that must be placed on one garbage can at each house with an active water meter account as part of St. Bernard's effort to enforce the one can per household garbage collection program. Residents who currently have two or more cans should contact SDT to arrange for collection of their second and additional cans at curbside.

AS SOON AS RESIDENTS RECEIVE THE DECAL IN THEIR WATER BILL, THEY SHOULD IMMEDIATELY PLACE THE STICKER ON THE TOP OF THE LID OF THEIR GARBAGE CAN.

Only cans with this sticker on the top lid will be counted as eligible for pick up as part of the parish government's twice a week pick up schedule with SDT. Second and additional cans that are signed up separately with SDT will be issued a different identifying sticker by SDT. Cans without a sticker will be removed by SDT during the normal pick-up days. Small businesses using can service will follow the same guidelines. Any questions regarding the program should be directed to St. Bernard Parish Government at 278-4200.

Shown is the decal that will be mailed to those addresses with active water meter accounts over the next 30 days. The decal has the parish emblem. The back has instructions detailing that the sticker should be placed on top of the garbage can lid.
