St. Bernard Parish Government’s Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness is partnering with the Governor’s Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness to collect donations for victims of Hurricane Maria in Puerto Rico.
John Rahaim, Jr., Director of OHSEP said the primary need at this time is for baby care items, specifically for infants and toddlers, and personal hygiene products for women. The items that are desperately needed at this time include donations of the following:
Diapers, powdered baby formula (no liquids), new baby bottles with nipples and bottles with liners, baby wipes, diaper cream and feminine care products (Tampons, pads, napkins, panty liners). These are the ONLY items that will be accepted at this time. Items must be new and in original packaging and unopened.
Donations may be dropped off at the following location beginning Thursday, September 28, 2017 between the hours of 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Donations will be accepted Monday through Friday.

The deadline for donations to be delivered to the collection sites is Tuesday morning, October 10th. The Louisiana Army National Guard will make the first pickup of the donated items on Wednesday, October 4th and the final pickup will be on October 11th.
