St. Bernard Parish holds Veterans’ Recognition Ceremony

2018 Veterans Celebration 142

Following the parade, a recognition ceremony was conducted by students from various schools throughout St. Bernard Parish. Bonnie Cook of the Francois deLery Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution, who helped with the development of the monument, read the names of the Veterans as they stood in in honor at the monument by the military branch they served in. After the ceremony, veterans were treated to lunch inside the Sigur Civic Center. Thank you to everyone who supported this event in any way. A special thank you goes to Gulf Coast Bank and Trust, Rotolo’s Pizza and Rocky & Carlo’s. Photos by Lenor Duplessis and Heather Michael.
