Over 6000 city planners from the United States and various countries attended the National Planning Conference held at the Morial Convention Center in New Orleans. During Sunday’s panel, St. Bernard Parish Coastal Director John Lane spoke on coastal leadership.
A special tour was held on Monday which focused on climate adaptation, highlighting coastal work, resiliency, land use planning and cultural heritage. Participants heard from multiple individuals associated with St. Bernard Parish Government including Parish President Guy McInnis, Director of Community Development Jason Stopa, Grants Consultant Deborah Fagan, Coastal Consultant Jerry Graves, Parish Historian William Hyland, Tourism Manager Katie Tommaseo and Robert Turner from the LA Southeast Flood Protection Authority-East.
