Hopedale Marina Celebrates their Grand Opening

Hopedale Marina held a Grand Opening Celebration at 7600 Hopedale Highway in St. Bernard. Owner Pat Turner was joined by his wife Assessor Jaylynn Bergeron Turner, family, friends and a number of other parish officials including Parish Judge Jeanne Juneau, Parish CAO Ronnie Alonzo and Chamber President Elizabeth Frost.

Hopedale Marina (formerly Breton Sound Marina) is a destination place for fishing, hunting, camping and other outdoor activities. Live bait – boat shed rentals – RV Campground – Kayak destination and plenty of tackle and boating supplies. The Marina is open daily from 6:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Hopedale Marina is a terrific launch and fishing at its best. Improvements continue at Carolyn Park Playground
2nd Annual Kickball Tournament set for Sunday, April 23rd

St. Bernard Community Foundation Endowment Fund has donated a $24,172.00 grant to St. Bernard Kiwanis Foundation, Inc. designated for Carolyn Park Playground. Councilman Gillis McCloskey and Parish President Guy McInnis accepted the check from Claudette Reuther of the St. Bernard Kiwanis Foundation, Inc. who said the grant monies will be used for improvements to Carolyn Park Playground.

Public Meeting held on the Inner Harbor Navigational Canal Study

Parish President Guy McInnis and Councilman Gillis McCloskey was in attendance at the Public Meeting hosted by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. The meeting was to discuss the Inner Harbor Navigation Canal (IHNC) Lock Study.

THE U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, New Orleans District released its Mississippi River, Baton Rouge to the Gulf of Mexico Mississippi River-Gulf Outlet, Louisiana, New Industrial Canal Lock and Connecting Channels Project Draft Integrated General Reevaluation Report (GRR) and Draft Supplemental Environmental Impact Statement (SEIS) for public comment.

The Army Corps will accept written comments through March 1st. Comments on the draft integrated report should be directed to:
