St. Bernard Tourism Department participates in the 2016 Tourism Summit

Tourism Manager, member of LA Travel Promotion Association and LA Convention and Visitor’s Bureau

Members of the St. Bernard Parish Government Office of Tourism and the St. Bernard Tourist Commission recently attended the annual Lt. Governor’s Tourism Summit, supported by the Louisiana Travel Promotion Association (LTPA). The summit was held August 23-25, 2016 at the Shreveport Convention Center.

This year's theme was "Cookin' up a Recipe for Success" and featured a keynote address by Lt. Governor Billy Nungesser, as well as presentations, workshops and networking opportunities for attendees.

Fall Session of Tales on Tuesdays at the Saint Bernard Parish Public Library
Free Story Program for ages 3 and up, 2600 Palmisano Blvd. Chalmette beginning September 20th thru December 13th at 1 p.m. and 5:30 p.m.

Everyone is invited to visit the St. Bernard Parish Library as it begins its Fall session of Tales on Tuesdays. This free story program will run from September 20th through December 13th. Two sessions of Tales on Tuesdays will be held each week for children 3 years of age and older. The earlier time is set for 1 p.m. and is geared for younger listeners. The evening session will begin at 5:30 p.m. and is open to children of all ages, but will target school-aged children. All story programs will take place at the St. Bernard Parish Library’s main branch, located at 2600 Palmisano Blvd., in Chalmette. Sessions will run about 45 minutes and will introduce children to literature through storybooks, poetry, flannel boards, finger plays, and participatory activities.

Save Louisiana Coalition's 3rd Annual Battle for the Bayou Bash on Saturday, September 10th at The Frederick Sigur Center from 6 - 10 p.m.

There will be live entertainment by Bag of Donuts, Louisiana seafood, silent auctions, and much more.
