St. Bernard Salutes America 24th Annual July 4th Celebration
Music, food and fireworks at Torres Park and the Community Playground

The St. Bernard Salutes America 24th Annual July 4th Celebration will be held at Torres Park and Community Playground.

The event will begin with the annual Patriotic Program July 4th at 5:30 p.m. sponsored by the St. Bernard Business & Professional Women's Club, Inc. prior to the St. Bernard Salutes America event.

Citizens are urged to wear red, white and blue and gather at the Liberty Bell for a program saluting all those who have fought for the country’s freedom and for all citizens who continue to fight for freedom.

All citizens are asked to bring a bell and join in ringing the replica of the Liberty Bell that was presented as a USA Bicentenntial gift to the citizens of St. Bernard Parish by the members of the Business & Professional Women's Club.  The fund raising drive for this bell was spearheaded by Charter Member Olga Dugas and the late Louise Gorbaty.

Patriotic fans will be given out free to all who attend the ceremony by the BPW 2007 Man and Woman of the Year, Dr. Bryan Bertucci and Polly Boudreaux.

All present also will have the opportunity to pull the ropes that ring the Bell of Freedom. For information on the bell-ringing program, call Bonnie Cook, BPW Program Chair at 504-722-8823.

The schedule of events for the day is as follows:
