ST. BERNARD RECREATIONAL COACHES ATTENDED A CLINIC BEFORE THE
START OF SUMMER BASEBALL
The St. Bernard Parish
Recreation Department and the Chalmette High School Coaching
Staff held their first joint Coaches’ Clinic May 19, 2008 at the
Chalmette High School Baseball Stadium. The clinic was a huge
success with more than 50 coaches in attendance. The coaches
were taught new drills for fielding, hitting and pitching and
practice organization skills.
Recreation Department Director Donnie Bourgeois said he would
like to thank the Chalmette High School Baseball Coaches, Lyall
Barwick, Kenny Bonura and Matt Tucker, and Athletic Director
David Brossette for hosting the clinic.
Holding clinics to train coaches for youth leagues was part of
Parish President Craig Taffaro’s Recovery and Growth Plan he
issued for his first 100 days.
